Knotweed (Reynoutria japonica) and recycled fibers
9x78"

This handmade accordion book, created from knotweed paper and ink, brings together an essay and images of animal decomposition within knotweed stands. The work reflects on how these urban ecotones reveal cycles of decay and regeneration, where plants, animals, fungi, and soil are entangled. Knotweed’s persistence and porousness illuminate queer ecological possibilities within spaces of overlap and transformation.
