Knotweed (Fallopia japonica) and Hydrocal
6' x 4' x 1.5'

This work pairs knotweed stalks with Hydrocal casts of their interiors, bringing vegetal and mineral states into tension to examine disturbance and adaptation. Fragile yet tensile, the work traces how the category of invasive species reflects histories of extraction and land control rather than qualities of the plant itself.
